Abnormality 0017 is an anomalous Garry's Mod dupe file (also distributed in .gma format) titled:
dupe_autosim_v2.dml
autosim_chair_fixed.gma

On the surface, it appears to be a standard ragdoll test bench or chair-based contraption built with thrusters, sliders, and basic props. It is often uploaded by anonymous users or bundled in old save folders from Workshop packs, usually described as: "NPC Ai Chair Tester 2.0 - fixed for multiplayer."

Upon spawning the dupe, the following sequence occurs in most affected sessions:
The dupe activates without user input.
The dupe begins to duplicate itself over and over again.

This loop continues until the server hits the dupe limit, or the session begins to lag severely. Attempts to undo or remove the dupe only delete the visible instance, leaving behind ghost copies, invisible physics collisions, or unremovable thruster sounds.

If the dupe is left running for 10+ minutes, it may begin overwriting object IDs in the map. In some sessions, the dupe spreads to new players via duplication tools without them actively copying it.

The Abnormality was first discovered on August 9th, 2019 on an SCP roleplay server. The dupe was submitted anonymously, labeled "Fixed Physics Chair." Over 8 players attempted to remove it, and eventually the server crashed. Upon restart, autosaves from the session all re-spawned the dupe automatically.
