Abnormality 0015

Abnormality Surname: gm_longdark

Risk Level: Unknown

Status Level: Active

Type: Map

Abnormality 0015 refers to a modified map file named gm_longdark.bsp, derived from a recent version of the stock Garry's Mod map gm_construct. The map initially appears identical to the base construct layout - textures, lighting, and props are consistent across most of the map. However, upon entering the dark room area beneath the main building, the map exhibits non-Euclidean properties and highly irregular spatial behavior.

Upon crossing the initial threshold of the dark room:
The hallway elongates substantially.
Player flashlight functionality flickers.

The most alarming property is reverse compression: when the player attempts to turn back toward the original hallway, the exit is now less than 3–4 feet away, regardless of how far they advanced. This exit leads back to the main map normally, suggesting time or space within the dark room is not behaving linearly.

No clear origin has been found. The .bsp was not uploaded to Workshop but instead distributed via anonymous MEGA links and appeared in the folder structure of unrelated addons.

The nature of Abnormality 0015 is still not understood. Some suspect it may be linked to Abnormality 0014 due to overlapping file traces in legacy cache folders.

Abnormality 0015-A

Abnormality Surname: Command Depth

Risk Level: Disruptive

Status Level: Active

Type: Event

Sub-Abnormality 0015-A, designated "Command Depth," is an event that triggers within Abnormality 0015 (gm_longdark) when a player advances exactly 7,500 Hammer Units (HU) into the extended hallway of the dark room.

Upon reaching this threshold:
The game forcibly executes a hidden internal command, not visible to the user in the developer console.
The player's keyboard and mouse inputs are unbound in real time - effectively disabling all controls, including movement, weapon use, chat, and menu navigation.

Within approximately 2 seconds, the screen flashes abruptly with a series of high-contrast, still images from earlier parts of the session. These are not stored in the standard screenshots folder and do not correspond to player-initiated captures.

The images are accompanied by a piercing, high-frequency ring (est. ~18,000 Hz), which often bypasses standard in-game volume settings.

The player must force-quit Garry's Mod via task manager or console window, as all traditional escape options become nonfunctional. Upon restarting the game, all controls are reset to default, and a console message may appear stating:
"//you were deeper than permitted"
