Abnormality 0014, nicknamed "Friendly Gnome," is an autonomous hostile NPC-type entity derived from an old mod originally hosted on the now-defunct GMod Toybox. Despite its innocuous name and model - a repurposed decorative garden gnome - the entity exhibits aggressive behavior and unique persistence properties that set it apart from conventional scripted NPCs.

Once installed, the gnome spawns into the map without warning or user input, typically appearing behind or to the side of the player. Upon detection, it immediately begins to follow, then attack, always prioritizing the player who installed the addon - regardless of whether they are still present in the session.

The gnome cannot be removed by any of the following methods:
Unsubscribing from the mod.
Using remove, ent_remove, or clean_up.
Physgun manipulation.

Though originally a legitimate Toybox NPC, "Friendly Gnome" began showing abnormal persistence and behavior after the Toybox shutdown. Community reports suggest the mod was re-uploaded under different names, often bundled inside unrelated addons (e.g., "Clean Props Pack," "Fun NPC Bundle").

After the Toybox service was shut down, "Friendly Gnome" was considered dormant. However, isolated reactivations have been reported as recently as 2023, suggesting the abnormality may be encoded or preserved within legacy map caches.
