Abnormality 0013

Abnormality Surname: Netsky Ghostscript

Risk Level: Contagious

Status Level: Active

Type: Malicious Script

Abnormality 0013 refers to a malicious Lua-based script that propagates silently across servers via third-party dupes and toolgun presets. Dubbed "NetSky Ghostscript" by the community, it disguises itself as a common wiremod or E2 configuration, but contains hidden execution hooks that embed themselves into map entities and player saves.

Upon activation (usually after 1-2 map changes), the script modifies various network behaviors:
All text chat is delayed by 5-10 seconds.
Voice chat outputs pre-recorded phrases from previous sessions.
Sprays render upside-down and mirrored.
Any spawn attempts may place players in the incorrect spot.

The abnormality appears to generate false net messages referencing players who are not currently connected, some bearing usernames that have never joined the server.

Attempts to remove the script through file deletion often fail; the script reappears using alternate names such as cl_ghostnet.lua, hook_delay.lua, or base_player_legacy.lua.

Despite its scripting nature, 0013 exhibits characteristics beyond conventional malware.

Because of these anomalies, some believe 0013 is either a highly advanced obfuscated payload or a reactive entity embedded in the Lua execution layer itself.

Abnormality 0013-A

Abnormality Surname: Echobind

Risk Level: Disruptive

Status Level: Active

Type: Event

Sub-Abnormality 0013-A, designated "Echobind," refers to a phenomenon in which player-submitted chat or mic input is delayed, distorted, or misattributed within infected servers affected by Abnormality 0013. This anomaly is not simply a scripting bug - Echobind behavior manipulates communications in intelligent, context-aware ways.

When active, Echobind exhibits the following behaviors:
Chat messages are delivered several seconds after submission.
Old messages from previous sessions are sent.
Some messages are from players who are currently not present.

Messages intercepted by Echobind often contain emotional or contextually sensitive information - suggesting the phenomenon selects its content with some awareness of player reactions.
