Abnormality 0008

Abnormality Surname: Nocturne.lua

Risk Level: Contagious

Status Level: Active

Type: Malicious Script

Abnormality #0008, codenamed "Nocturne.lua," refers to a system-wide suppression of all in-game sounds that begins without warning or identifiable cause. When active, players experience a total muting of ambient, environmental, and prop-generated audio, despite no sound settings being changed or corrupted.

The anomaly initially surfaced on January 3rd, 2019 during a sandbox session on gm_bigcity_night. All map sounds and interactions went silent after a player subscribed to a workshop addon later identified as "Nocturne.lua"

Roughly four minutes after silence began, the server emitted a globally audible voice line with no visible source:
"Do you hear it now?"

Interestingly enough, "Nocturne.lua," was discovered to contain Abnormality #0004, otherwise known as "Playerclip"

"Nocturne.lua" appears to be a payload behavior hidden within an infected addon associated with Abnormality #0004. Even if Nocturne.lua is removed, the silence may remain if the script was loaded during the session.

The persistence of "Nocturne.lua" across sessions and its association with playerclip, (Abnormality #0004) indicates an active strand of Abnormality #0004 being unaffected by recent GMod patches.

Unlike typical audio bugs, this abnormality rewrites or hijacks sound logic, possibly through corrupted Lua hooks or shadowed functions.
